  • Aloha Airlines in Honolulu, which emerged from bankruptcy this spring, has appointed Mike Malik chief information officer. He has more than 20 years' experience in airline IT and is relocating from Dulles, Va., to the Aloha State.
  • Robert Urwiler has a dream job for any IT chief who loves to ski. Vail Resorts Inc. recently named him senior vice president and CIO. The $810-million company, headquartered in Broomfield, Colo., operates mountain resorts.
  • Beacon Roofing Supply Inc., with $851 million in revenue, has a new CIO under its roof. The Peabody, Mass., company hired Christopher Nelson to head up its IT department. He is Beacon's first-ever CIO.
  • Summit Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm, named Vic J. Zelny CIO. He is based in Summit's Boston office.
  • In San Diego, WebSense Inc., with $148 million in revenue, named James F. Haskin CIO.
  • And the $757-million Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (aka SWIFT) promoted Michael Fish from deputy CIO to CIO. The company's American offices are in Culpepper, Va.
