An RFID Starter Kit: The RFID Experimentation Kit

Consumer electronic gadgets like foldup keyboards and wind-up flashlights have their place in the world -- and sometimes in this space. But this month, I'm dedicating my technology choice to die-hard geeks.

At $99.99, ThinkGeek Inc.'s RFID Experimentation Kit comes with cool stuff like radio frequency identification (RFID) tags; a USB-based RFID reader; and instructions for RFID projects such as door locks, an RFID login for Windows XP and an RFID-enabled employee time clock.

This tool could be a great way to test the innovation and capability of new hires. Toss them a kit and see what they can do. Or test it yourself as a tribute to your own technology talent.
