NAME: John Carne AGE: 52 TITLE: CIO COMPANY: MTM Technologies Inc. ANNUAL REVENUE: $280 million INDUSTRY: Computer support services LOCATION: Stamford, Conn. START DATE: February 2007 PREVIOUS JOB: Global manufacturing company THE SOLUTION: Mars formed an SAP project team by enlisting the most competent business people. HOW DID YOU GET THAT JOB?: I was calling a colleague of mine in Europe and thumbed down one too many names in my cell phone directory. I accidentally dialed a good friend of mine who had moved into the recruiting field. As we were catching up, he mentioned that he was helping write a specification for a CIO job that might be perfect for me. Five months and 14 interviews later, I joined MTM Corp. as CIO. SELLING POINT: I enjoy working in a small company with a smart, customer-focused team. At MTM, we have many highly competent people, working hard to help out our customers and building our business.
