A slew of recently named midmarket CIOs will spend this summer in new surroundings.
In Stratham, N.H., Rosalee K. Hermens, founder of the IT consultancy Hermens & Associates, has been named CIO at the $1.6-billion Timberland Co. In Wilmington, Mass., Charles River Laboratories Inc., a $1.1-billion lab support services company, welcomed Nicholas Ventresca as corporate senior vice president and CIO. His last title was vice president, business technology at Pfizer Inc. In Philadelphia, William J. Schlageter is VP and CIO at dental equipment maker Dentsply International Inc., a $1.7-billion firm. In Palo Alto, Calif., Jessica Denecour accepted the VP and CIO job
at $1.4-billion Varian Medical Systems Inc. And in Chicago, Chris O'Brien left his job as the city's CIO to join the public-sector practice at global management consulting firm DiamondCluster International, with $220 million in revenue.
