From closets in the classrooms to an energy-efficient, state-of-the-art data center serving 3,700 students, Bryant University's IT operation is a shining example of what can be accomplished with the right strategy and right tools. Costing just less than $1 million, the consolidated data center houses about 35 virtualized servers and an award-winning IP Interoperability and Collaboration System network.

On a recent tour of the Bryant University campus near Providence, R.I., associate editor Brian Kraemer and news reporter Zach Church interviewed Arthur Gloster, vice president of information services, and Richard Siedzik, director of computer and telecommunications services, about the technology initiative that brought this growing college into the 21st century. Watch now as Gloster and Siedzik candidly discuss the data center's modular implementation and the beauty of direct cooling.
