George Bock has it made when it comes to green IT. As vice president of IT at Lake Forest, Calif.-based Sole Technology Inc., Bock is leading the environmental charge in a shoe and clothing company known for its planet-conscious way of doing business.
So stroll into the company's headquarters -- beneath the solar panels and past the waterless urinals -- and you'll find an IT department focused on recycling, consolidating servers, measuring energy efficiency and looking to its staff for innovative conservation ideas.
While aiming to be carbon-neutral by 2020, Sole Technology continues to produce popular skateboard shoe brands like etnies and Emerica.
Listen in as SearchCIO-Midmarket.com news writer Zach Church talks with Bock about the high points -- both ethically and financially -- of going green.
