timeline (Internet timeline, history of the Internet)
A timeline is the presentation of a chronological sequence of events along a drawn line that enables a viewer to understand temporal relationships quickly. This term is also sometimes extended to mean a chronology that is in tabular, year-by-year paragraphs, or other form. At any given time, there are usually several Web sites that provide interesting timelines about the Internet.
